Yesterday the weather was awesome in The Lakes (for a change) so we dusted off the Cayman (GT Sport) and went for a trip around The Lakes.

What a stunning car. I love the Caymans and see it realistically being a car I own one day.
Lucky person to drive one on the roads that the Lakes have to offer.

Beautiful looking car but not as nice as the background ... I love the lakes and seems you brought two lovely things together.

The Cayman is a great car. With a bit more horsepower, noise and a more aggressive body kit I think its awesome. Although, I might be biased.

We are very lucky to live in Cumbria. We moved up here last year and we are still exploring. The wife loves photography, so its a tough life but we need to drive to various places so she can take pictures ;-)

Your very lucky but good on you. Your wife takes some serious good photos there. I have to confess I love Tarn Hows even though it's done to death. The view across to sca fell from the Tarn on zoom is one of those wow shots. We had a great few days driving around in august when the weather gave in and the sun came out.

Oh your forgiven for the guilty confession. ;-)

Tarn Hows is amazing, we love to walk our labs there. Plus we can nip into Chester's at Skelwith Bridge to pile on the calories. For anyone thinking on visiting (and you should be), there is a National Trust car park just off the A593 and the walk up to Tarn Hows through the woods and past Tom Gill is fantastic.

Yes the small car park in the trees, not far from the ability to buy some quality Herdwick lamb. The lilies were in full bloom when we called up and the lake was mirror flat. I'll upload some iPhone pictures today of the Tarn.

:-) Yew Tree Farm. A quick plug for them http://www.yewtree-farm.com/ I popped by there yesterday and brought some lamb chops and beef.

As a confirmed townie, I am always amazed when I see different animals wondering around together. At the entrance were two turkeys, a jack russell puppy, a border collie, a cat sat in a box and a duck with multiple ducklings. Brilliant.

Yew Tree is a classic Lakeland farm who produce 600 Herdwick lambs per year. There were ducklings running around when I was there in august. :-)

some of those roads look familiar! thumbup

the piece of road between 3.30 and 4.30 is buttock clenching when you are overtaking lorries. hehe

here's a video i took when i went on a club run mostly in the yorkshire dales, but we did cross into the lakes. The weather when we went was utterly disgusting, but it was fun all the same!

Not sure, I've walked Buttermere loads but can't say I've seen that? Either that or I walk around with blinkers on!

It's name is pillar rock which is part of the pillar, the river is lizar. It's on the route from buttermere to pillar but even though it's impressive you can miss it because of the forest block.

The view of the car and water is Wastwater.

Added info: great gable is the mountain at the far side with scafell and pike to the right peaking over the top. On the left you have Yewbarrow.

There is a fantastic circle walk from buttermear to scafell and back via great gable. Funny thing is it also takes in the pillar.

Ah whoops, sorry I missed the request for the location of the pictures.

C3BER pretty much gave you the correct locations. Here are a few more images from this week:

These images are taken on the A592, at Ullswater and on the Kirkstone Pass.

Love that walk. My favourite in this specific area is from Ennerdale Bridge up to Black Sail hut, over Black Sail pass, down to Wastdale Head. Ennerdale Valley is one of the Lakes best kept secret:

End of the Summer I did Crinkle Crags from Langdales which is great, not so busy at this time of year. I strapped a GoPro HD camera on the dog

Found a lovely place to collect garnets if your ever interested. I can still remember finding my first one and the size of my dads back pack afterwards.
Took the Cerbera through Patterdale in august as the wife and i spent spent our anniversary at the Sharrow Bay, 25 years after we did the same journey in an MGB.

There are a few walks that can still be done away from the walking pilgrims. You just need to know what your doing if auntie in her flip flops is not waking next to you. I assure you I've seen everything in sheep country.
