OK that's prob a bit vague.....
starting planning for our clubs next road trip.
teh idea is that we'll be coming back southwards after being up in Northumberland.
Interested in finding out what roads up in the dales area ( so we'll be coming down from northumberland towards blackpool ) are the 'Must Do's. We all have '7' type cars and for us our goal is 'twisties'....big/wide A roads unless they have a particular plus point ( secnic etc ) are less than ideal.
countryside, decent tarmac ( hopefully ) and the odd 'pass' or two would be perfect.
if anyone can through some roads / road numbers out ( great if you can add a nearby location to make it easier to find on gmaps)....i'd be very grateful.
dont need a route as such, just teh individual roads up there that i ought to add to my list.

thx
mark

Corbridge - Alston - Middleton-on-Tees - Brough - Kirkby Stephen, keep going south through Aisgill - left on to the A684 Hawes - B6255 via Ribblesdale viaduct to Ingleton. left on to the A65 to Clapham and look for a right turn to the station. This road runs across the Trough of Bowland (look on the map for the road that runs towards Stocks Reservoir) at the highest point you can see the east Coast!(on a very clear day!) keep going through Slaidburn look out for a sharp left to Clitheroe with a junction on the right. Take that right to Dunsop Bridge and keep going and it will eventually climb through a pass to an excellent view point looking down on Morcambe bay, the Lakes and Blackpool etc. The road then drops down into Lancaster where you can either join the M6, A6 or carry on through for some back roads into Blackpool.

I didn't intend to plan a route, but hope some of that is useful to you, have a look on street view and see what you think?
