Need some alloys repaired due to curbing. Can anyone suggest someone in South Manchester?

Cheers, Matt

These guys in Stockport are good, if a bit tricky to find!

I've just booked the Alpina in with these guys:

Not S.Mcr, I was looking for near Altrincham/Knutsford, but wanted somewhere recommended and there's a few who've had good work from them.

I'll post the results once done.

Thinking of going there myself... They have branches nationwide and they do a drive-in drive-out service if you can get there early enough.. Website feedback sounds very good.

Let us know what you think when you've had them done.
Cheers

Just had a call as was due to collect the car at 10am today. The surface of the wheels was mottled slightly, I spoke to them yesterday afternoon, and it appears that a previous re-form has used an aggressive shot-blasting technique on them. I thought the finish was due to bad paint but apparently its the actual metal!

They said I could still collect them at 10am, or, they'll sand them back and lightly spray again - all for the same cost so no-brainer really. It seems like they take care in what the do. I'll post before/after pictures when I collect.

Just collected the car and they look massively better. Since these are stty iPhone pictures they don't show the true state - the surface of the wheel are quite uneven, but they've done a great job of hiding it. The colour looks O.E. which I was after, before they were heavily discoloured and looked matt grey.

BTW the before pictures don't show road dirt, that's the wheels clean.

Price was:

Strip, refit, balance £48
Refurb £285
Caps £24
Wax £24

So £381 inc VAT.

I'm really happy with that, the price for the wax was something I wanted to pay as I'm desperate to find any means that makes cleaning 80 spokes easier!

I have used them in the past and they do a good job. They are franchised so I would get some recommendations from the place you want to use. I used Manchester when they opened and I was happy with the results.

Has anyone used them for split rims. I have Audi/BBS 20 spoke 18" on my A3 and they are a nightmare. The outer rim which seems to be a soft alloy has the laquer de-laminating in various places.
