I'm taking the Wee lad tomorrow. Is there anything else of note in the town?

Cranford café (opposite) does a decent fryup biggrin

Some half decent eateries and pubs but otherwise not much of note tbh, its just a typical town. Costa on top street if you want a frothy coffee.

Have to say that is not a bad Costa, most of them are usually a tip inside. Bentley Manchester is worth a look as well, usually have some nice motors in there, again they do not mind you going in there.

Went in today. I must say the girl there, and the bloke, were very friendly and more than accomodating with my son. Even asked him if he wanted to sit in the MP4 12C which he didn't have to be asked twice. Nice looking car and I'd say it looked especially good at the price.
While we were in there a Ford GT went past (pictures later). Went up to the Rolls Royce place where they were less friendly, nipped into Land Rover next door just in case they had an Evoque (no) and then took the long walk the other way to Bentley. An F430 Spyder and a Porsche Boxter outside, plus a nice white R* V10 Spyder inside. Had a good look at the Mulsanne which is just huge!
I'd highly recommend taking a look at the McLaren, it realy does look the buisness. Very interesting to see the chassis too.

Glad you had a great time, i cant wait to go back again on Thursday, dont think i will ever get bored of going to car dealers, currently 18 years of age, been going to dealers since i was about 4. The Rolls showroom looks nice but dont fancy going in as i think i would feel uncomfortable, went into the old showroom once and knew the staff did not want me in there. Bentley is a great showroom, have a stunning selection in there.

What colour was the Ford GT? Blue with White stripes?

Yep, the white and blue, chap there said there has been another GT knocking around recently in Gulf colours.
Rolls Royce was very unwelcoming, Bentley the opposie. But hats off to Mclaren, above and beyond. I'll put the pic of my boy after. Long time since I've seen him that happy.

I have seen the White/Blue one but not the Gulf edition version. Love the GT, such a menacing looking car. I am glad Mclaren is not appointment only apart from Sunday's, think i will be spending a lot of time in there, also, Ferrari and Maserati opening up this month next to Porsche, Wilmslow/Knutsford is mega for Supercars now.

It's odd to hear how different your experiences have been. I feel awkward in any car showroom besides a couple. Aston in Wilmslow were great, Lambo Manchester let me have a look around the LP560 when it was launched, the rest I've felt uncomfortable like I'm doing something wrong. hehe

For us, I think the fact that my son is the one who really wants to be there, and is to my absolute pride) a very polite little chap helps, he always asks about the cars he sees and I think that interest from any child can be quite a pleasant experience for people in the top end of car sales. My pictures in general were no better than the op, but this one I like;

I'd like to think most high end car dealers would be very accomodating with anyone walking through the door.

If you ever come into cash in the future (be it inheritance or lottery etc) then you may just pay them a visit again for a purchase smile

First impressions and that...

You see i think Aston Wilmslow are total arse holes, dont want to know you, have been in a couple of times and they gave me the impression that if you aint buying, fk off. Would never buy a car off them for that reason. Lambo Manchester on the other hand, brilliant, been there a few times, wish they would move to the Wilmslow area though.

If you go down, there are two Aston places on Park Lane, they are very friendly, but as I said in another thread, Jack Barclays get the gold medal!

Jack Barclay is the Veyron dealer for the UK i think. Bob Forstner have some tasty metal in as well plus all the Arab supercars that are floating around London at the moment.
