We all seem to have the same opinions and a new meeting place would be a good idea. Been trying to think of places that are between Southhampton and Portsmouth but still on the good roads (ie A32) and easily accessible.

Any other ideas or is this one good enough?
How about Bishops Waltham? I know the TVRCC have had some problems there too but instead of meeting at the square we could meet at the large parking area by the ruins. For refreshments there is the shell garage just over the road.

have to say he was not a happy bunny, marktvrloud tried to to get us a tea and he said the bloke was not impressed with us at all. Thought he was going to have heart failure when I went to use the toilet.
Perhaps if he wants to mend bridges he should smile and be courteous once in a while.

i agree entirely. Thought the bloke was a complete t*sser. Ok, so its fairly infrequent that I do buy tea/coffee/food in there but I shall certainly not bother in future. Agree with dicky, hardly a way to mend bridges. Hows about we find another meeting point instead chaps.

Today I noticed the West meon Hut is closed for a serious refurbishment.
Due to re-open summer 2004. Might be worthy of a meet.

The Bucks Head is a wee pub off the A32 by Droxford I think...large-ish car park across the road from the pub and by the river? Bit locally IIRC but can't be any less keen on customer service than the chap at the little thief!

Not been to the Bucks Head before. Is it a right turn just before Droxford when heading North on the A32?

It is in meonstoke, on the east side of the A32, a mile north of droxford. Visible from the A32 when going north.

I might have a contact who knows the publican. I'll see if i can find out what the reception would be like.

What about the car park on the top of Portsdown Hill?
Big(ish) gravel car park, good burger bar and fantastic veiws. Oh and some fun twisty lanes to get up there.

Just a thought.
Simon.

Car park is very tight and only has enough room for 10/12 cars IIRC,The last couple of West Meon stops where in the layby north of the lights next to the Hut.

Thats the place I mentioned a long while back, its sometimes got a burger van too.

I suppose Bishops Waltham is OK really. It would just be good to have a bigger car park area

Last evening meet, we managed to avoid the buses but an old lady came banging on a few Tiv roofs as we were leaving BW, claiming it was a conservation area. Looked like a bus stop to me. All a little frightening really.

You were hardly causing it to fall down. The bus would do more damage!
Perhaps you should have made a (senior) citizens arrest!

I too think the Layby just beyond the Little Chef would be a good meeting place. Cars could line up either side if need be!
