For any of you even thinking about driving in the morning, don't bother! It has taken me 5 hours to drive from Hedge End to Denmead on the motorways and side roads. All are stuffed and once it freezes, will be bloody dangerous. Stay in bed, make snowballs, leave the car at home, its not worth it. As I told someone earlier who want me to go out to the middle of no-where, 'I'm not paid enough to risk my life'

I assume you're home OK now Hannah?
It was bad enough on the A3 between 5 and 7 tonight, I heard the reports from the A/M27 sounds awful and made worse by the inexperienced twunts trying (and failing) to drive round there!

Poley on his trip home

I got in OK (West End - Fareham) The roads were OK because most had stayed at home. The M27 was clear until I got to J9. There must have been 60 cars parked up on the long slip off there going west bound. There were about 20 abandoned cars east bound along my route.
Steve.D decided not to come in from Waterlooville. Still caotic just getting off his estate. He can spend all day at the PC!!!!
Heavy falling snow here now. I may call it a day soon and clamber back into the AMAZON

Luckily I dont have to venture out or else I would be posting up for Steves phone number to borrow the Dakar. How much fun could you have in that at the mo. Would make a good photo shoot to!!
It took him about an hour to get it started this morning. Whilst out "playing" in the mud over xmas he managed to submerge it so the water was at waist level. Then of course all that moisture had frozen. He thinks the FIA kill switch was full up with water when he parked up.Still! He did get it started, so, says alot about how tough the ol' beastie is! The Daka is fairly robust too!
Just walked accross the bridge over the M27 and the matrix signs say the A3m is still closed J2 - J5. Snow has stopped here now and a semi thaw has started, just ready to freeze tonight! Deep joy?
