At least your be safe in the knowledge that I will be on the road (dreaming) whilst you in the MGB will be sanding down, filling, sighting oil leaks - ohh and "dreaming" of driving it one day!

Badgest are we? I've just looked at your sig, should of known you'd be a Porsche owner (you guys never cease to amaze me, definately a special breed!)
So whatever you think my friend, I personally have never attended an event like the afore mentioned, however I do many track days which is what the car is made for, maybe one day I may meet you on track in your hairdressers car? I take great pleasure in overtaking Porsche's

There is always someone that loves to slate them but I had one for 8 years and was gutted when i had to let it go. Having said that i still see it regularly and can see the new owner playing the never ending rust game. They are a doddle to work on with no problems with parts even for a mechanical retard like me. Might be worth buying him a club membership for xmas (MGOC)very helpful but more for the older crowd.
As with most things it all depends on how much he has to spend but just to play devils advocate you can always try and talk him into something a bit more interesting? Bought my TVR S for same money as an average GT and is a lot more fun and wouldn't swap it for an MG now and it doesn't rust...except the chasis??
