Interesting experience today on the Bournemouth spur road.Coming back from Southampton I picked up a large black Lexus saloon over the forest and down into Ringwood. He was moving well, staying in the outer lane at all times so I just paced him at a 3/4 car distance.Lost site at Ringwood as I moved over into the slip road lane to the spur road.
Halfway allong the spur road I once again come up behind the Lexus who accelerated past cars in front untill the road was clear then moved over. I overtook and carried on untill, at Blackwater Bridge I spot sequentialy flashing headlights (white) and hear a police siren. It is the Lexus. Iam in the inner lane and indicating to pull onto the verge when the Lexus pulls out from behind me, violently accelerates and the driver gives me "The Finger". Anyone else come across this charming police imposter??

I assume you got the VRM and reported him to the (real) BiB?

I imagine that sort of info will go in as an intelligence submission and then be sent out to local and traffic officers, so they can be on the lookout and hopefully catch them in the act.

Frankly with the number of genuine unmarked cars working in Bournemouth at the moment it's only a matter of time before the Lexus concerned pulls that stunt on a real police car.

I forsee... convictions for impersonation, dangerous driving & speeding, loss of licence, confiscation of Lexus, unhappy and less cocky owner afraid to pick up the soap in the prison showers...

Unfortunatly I did not get the reg of the Lexus. As I began to pull over he accelerated violently away even as I was composing my spaech to what I thought was an unmarked BiB. I do not road race and we were now in the 50 mph zone so the Lexus was long gone. I assume the driver just does not like older guys in open top (the sun was out) high performance cars from overtaking him!!
