It will be yet another traffic census. They're all over the place at the moment.

Excuse my ignorance, but what are these 'traffic cencus' things. I have seen a few, where they block a lane and make certain cars pull over. Thankfully I have wafted past them as they have been busy.

Any links to where I can read up about them? Do you have to stop? smile

They're just collecting very basic data about details of your journey. - it's all impersonal, so don't worry about your privacy.
Hopefully this information will be used to improve traffic management and road planning in the future.
Of the three I've stopped for, two were a 30 second chat with a bloke with a clipboard, the other was a form to fill in with a Freepost envelope.

Yes, you do have to stop if instructed to by a uniformed police officer.

QUOTE VERY BASIC DATA

We had one on Hayling Island a couple of weeks ago, delaying Islander's journey's by up to 50 minutes, would have been nice to have had advanced notice. Questions asked where have you come from and where are you going, not to difficult really to work out, I have come from Hayling and I'm going off the island, how flipping daft can these bureaucrats be! This must have cost the tax payer thousands, not alone how much it cost industry.

Going past the Havant Total petrol station the other day and there was 4 bmw estates puling people on the opposite side and there was an APR poised to catch every one! I saw a Porsche giving it somewhat full chat towards them so dont know if he got done or not!
