How big an area do you want / need?
Big enough for a car and space to pan. You know some places? Is there anyway of getting into those places? Like giving them a call and finding out or would it be one of those things that would cost like £20k to let you in lol. The mod quarry down the road from the car crushing centre look good arial as well but when I drove past today I found out it was MOD.
What times does matchams close?

When you say pan - do you mean moving shots of the car?
Have you looked at Whitesheet near Wimborne - there is a gravel track that runs from the top, right down to Uddens near the Ferndown bypass. (I am on a work laptop, so cant get on Google Earth).

Figure of 8 - is part of the Quinteq (sp) site and is locked and has barbed wire all round the outside. It used to be MOD land, so that gives you some idea of the security.
Matchams Stadium is locked at night as well - stops the pikies getting in!
or do you mean to stop them getting out !Matchams Stadium is locked at night as well - stops the pikies getting in!

If you want wide open, relatively unpoliced gravel, try the Old Marlborough Rd on the Plain.
SU 20415 52415 to SU 20155 48405.Many more in the area.
Cant seem to find those bearings. how can I go about finding it? SU 20415 52415 to SU 20155 48405.Many more in the area.
It is the gravel road running to the south from the gravel car park nr the copse.
I'm surprised you struggled with the Grid Refs
Didn't manage to get out that way, tried to get out to a place the other end of the forest but had to stop in Matchams & the new forest due to light. think the shoot turned out well.

Car looks good.
If you don't mind a bit of C&C, in that first shot the rear spoiler looks a bit lost against the darkness of the trees; if you'd have comped the car the other way round it might have been better defined with the headlights in the dark area and the dark spoiler against the lighter sky. Remember to turn the front wheels away from the camera too.
In the second, I can see what you were going for (been lightpainting cars for ages) but you prob want to be a bit more careful with your light trails. It's fine to have them visible but if you're doing that it's better that they're continuous rather than having gaps where you've walked in front of them. Not easy mind you - plan your journey round the car. Also, shot looks a bit soft, like you couldn't find focus in the dark. Lighting could use a lift in places but across the front it's pretty cool.
I'm not on facebook so don't know if there's critique options, but flickr can be constructively helpful if you make the right contacts and post to appropriate groups.
Trying not to hijack the thread but just to back up the comments here's a couple I've done, all with handheld lighting.

Note (not a photoshoot, just cos it was there hence dirty).

Loads more on my flickr
With this one the white blocks in the bg are me walking through the shot with my light, by standing behind the light all the time the lighting was continuous. Drop me a message if you want to join me on a night shoot sometime.
