Looking into going to this the day after the saturday brighton speed trial event - cheap to get atleast 3 1/4mile runs and there's drifting & donuting competitons too...

an event like this used to run at TI up until 2 or 3 yrs ago - don't know if this is the same team running it this year...

The Helicopter Rides Driftin Display sounds intrigueing.....Either a bullet point has fallen off or it's something I haven't heard of before!

Morning Peter
Booked in for Sunday RWYB. Never done this before and don't want to break it, but will be interesting to see what the Chim can do.
We normaly get the train over to Brighton as parking is a difficult and it also means you can enjoy a few beers. Perhaps nearer the time we can arrange a meeting point for us and fellow PH's.byebye

Looks good - have booked the Fiat in for 3 1/4 mile runs - never done it before so no doubt will get beaten by a Pug 106 or something, LOL!

Not doing Brighton now... And just enquired with MM organiser re booking as there seems to be no option to do it on their website anymore??...but aim to go and also meet beforehand. Event starts at 10am so not crazy early start. Are you coming from the east or north?

I'm going to pop along to this. If I get the bottle I may try a run on the day if there are spaces. Otherwise just going ad it will be a nice day with cars an the other half has to revise :-).

I will be at this on Sunday morning with AndWhyNot up to about 13.15hours when I have to leave for work.

I thought about entering the R26 in the RWYB, but dont want to show anyone up so decided against it!!

See some of you there.

smile Jim, the R26 was one of the cars that i had difficulty getting past at Odiham so get on the 1/4m and it could be equaliser time hehe

Come on then, let's see your times.

I'd never done this before, and got a disappointing 14.912/102.5 on the first run. Poor reaction time, too much wheel spin and bounced off the limiter in 1st & 2nd.

Second run was better. Minimal wheel spin & changing up at about 5500. Result - 14.084/104.4.

Final run saw a better reaction time result in a 13.955/105.3, which I was quite pleased with for a standard Chim 450 with half a tank of fuel & the spare wheel in the boot.

It was good to meet fellow PHer Barrie Piper, who clocked a 107+ terminal in his Chim 500 as I was leaving (so I assume the ET was quite good).

Good times - any interesting cars beaten??!
Big thanks Andy Why... for looking after my 'spare bits' and great to see the Barry Biper, Tuscan Al and Jim grins - some good times Barry, Al >>> wider wheels!

Best result with roof on: 12.139s 121.2mph against a 'Hunter' 3.5l Turbo .3s behind!

Best topless result: the hawaiian tropic girl Sophie

..then, after her, 12.348s 120mph quickest convertible?!!
