Hi everyone,

Well, it's reached that time for a major service and MoT on my 4.2 TVR Cerbera....I've only had her 6months or so, so this will be her first under my ownership (fingers crossed the price won't hurt too much).......anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions of where to take her....Fernhurst TVR seem the obvious choice as I live near Chichester and they are effectively 'local' but I had mixed experiences with them when I was looking for my Cerb so was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions????

Thanks,
Mike

I have heard good things about Austec which is near Gatwick from memory

think a google search will show their location

Ive used Austec for the past 5 years thumbup

A bit of a run from Chichester (never really a bad thing in a Cerb wink) but they do use a 'TVR friendly' MOT garage. smile

A lot of people use and say good things about Andy at APM, http://www.apmautomotive.co.uk/index.htm
near Liphook just off the A3, have to get booked in early though as i understand he has quite a lot of work usually.

I use both Fernhurst and Andy at APM, who I believe is something of an expert with the AJP V8 having rebuilt a few, and, always seems to have a Cerb there being worked on. Downside he's in the middle of nowhere and you don't get a courtesy car like you do at Fernies!

Cheers

Thanks for all the tips people.....off to check the bank balance and make a few calls - fingers crossed she'll be tip top for next weekend's Supercar Sunday at Goodwood. Mike

Hi Jon,
Well, just to report back, I ended up going to Austec Racing near Gatwick.....mainly because they were the only ones that could fit the car in before Supercar Sunday at Goodwood but........as ever, when a TVR goes in for one thing it invariably needs several others.....and a 2 day MoT/Service has turned into 2 weeks in the garage - nothing that major - primarily emissions but atleast I have her back now.

So, what did I think? well Austec were great with getting the car sorted, staying open so I could drop her off after work etc and managing to get her through the MoT without charging horrendous amounts and she now runs a whole lot better so on the whole good - main down side was that the car was disgustingly filthy when I picked her up - magnolia leather doesn't help but oily/greasy fingerprint/smudges all over the interior wasn't what I expected.

Let me know if you try somewhere different

Mike
