Hey all,

I'm thinking of speaking to the bank on Tuesday (Payday biggrin) and borrowing a bit of cash to upgrade from the 216 to something meatier. Unfortunately my list of cars so far looks like this:

1) Honda Integra Type R

Any other suggestions? I want something a bit unusual, great to drive, not fussed about fuel economy, a young image (don't roll your eyes at me tongue out) and a bit special, but my budget is probably only going to be around £5k ish. I've looked around and it seems unlike the last time I looked, there's some nice tegs for that. But I'm not sure what else really. I think I quite fancy something mental and japanese...

Hmmm, there's some quite nice scoobys for the money, but I knew a few people who changed from them to ATRs and said that compared to the ATR the scooby doesn't really offer as much excitement, it's just so competent. I want a challenge tongue out Plus there's fecking hundreds of them!

Toyota Celica GT4 (would be my choice for the money, and you could get a decent one. They look very aggressive)

Nissan 200sx

Mazda RX7

EK9's are at the very top end of the budget - I hadn't thought of the GT4 though, how quick are they? I've read a couple of reviews which praised their handling, always a good sign...

I'm leaning towards Jap - I must admit I'm rethinking scoobies too, I've just seen a really nice V7 (I think, 1999?) black STI parked outside... Hmmm.

Only twin turbo Supras in the price range were Auto's, and I'm not sure they'd be that much fun or that quick if any of the auto cars I've driven are anything to go by...

Matt matt matt...

I hate you.

That is all tongue out (Legnums a good shout though, although I prefer the galant saloon...)

I changed from a 21 Turbo to an Impreza Turbo Wagon - the impreza felt a bit soft at first compared to the front wheel manic drive of the 21. But after fitting a stainless exhaust, high flow air filter & new clutch it's fantastic & the handling is wicked + NO torque steer!!

A buddy of mine has a Nissan 200 S14 turbo that's been re-mapped to 300bhp & that really flies, plus RWD is always a giggle....could be an option..

the supra has one of the best auto boxes i have ever driven ( btw i hate autos!) it really suited the car as it is set up just right so it will drop the cogs if you want to boot it which results in a very quick car. certainly don't rule it out because of the box. take one for a spin and see what you think - which is all that matters at the end of the day wink

No news yet as I have to wait till Tuesday to speak to the bank, but all your suggestions are being taken on board and very much appreciated biggrin

It's definately going to be Jap, and having gone out in my mates ATR I've had to add that to the growing list as well. So wish me luck on Tuesday because it's all down to the bank now!

OK, so that didn't go quite to plan, my credit rating is still pretty low as it took a battering when I was unemployed for a year (like, 5 years ago) and hasn't fully recovered so they wouldn't lend me any money at the moment and said to go back in 12 months. Bugger.

However I've borrowed some cash from my folks, and have a car lined up pending me getting to have a look at it. I decided to get something cheap, fast(ish) and comfortable to tide me over for said year, so as long as it hasn't sold before I get the cash in his hand, I should soon be the owner of a Rover 800 Vitesse. Since it's the only Rover Turbo I havent' owned it seemed logical.

The other ideas will have to wait till next year, but such is life. When I get it, I'll stick piccies up, it looks mint though biggrin
