Anyone own/know of a good garage in Portsmouth?

I'm probably going to be looking at a car in Portsmouth this Saturday, and would like someone to have a glance over the car before I buy. I'm going to do a data check to see if the car has any hidden history, so the main thing I'd be after is a mechanical inspection.

Does anyone know of or own a good garage? I am considering just getting an MOT check at a random garage, but that can be a bit hit and miss.

Staple Garage in Northcote Road, Southsea. 02392754425. Give them a call, or pop round and see them. I've found they always give an honest opinion (a close family friend is a mechanic back home to verify)

Cheers guys. Contacted both of them, but neither of them do saturdays .I'm thinking of rearranging the whole thing, but any other places I could try would be appreciated.

I think Cumberland Service Stn on Eastney Rd is open Sat AM, they're nowt special but have a good reputation locally
