Not a bad situation this.......

I currently have a '56 Mondeo ST tdci Estate as my company car, the accountants have looked at the costs & have informed me to change to a lease car - you can see where this is going......I really like the St it has all the toys (touch screen sat-nav, leather recaro interior, cracking stereo etc...)

Looking at 3 cars at the moment:

Alfa Romeo 159 1.9 Sportwagon Ti
Ford Mondeo 2.2 Titanium x Sport
Audi A6 Sportline

It needs to be a sports tourer as my wife likes to shop.....

Any other ideas......??

I'd have the Alfa - I've always had a soft spot for Alfas and the 159 is gorgeous (as estates go).

The 2.4 JTDm seems to be the one to go for (I know you've stated it'll be the 1.9)

bounce 159 ti, that has the nice big rims and everything doesn't it? What a truly stunning vehicle, not just for an estate but by most standards! Is the 320d or 325d not on the options list, they're meant to be excellent and rwd coffee

I've had a 320d M Sport - great car - great drive, but it wasn't the biggest car either, replaced that with the ST Mondeo.

As for budget, i'm looking at around £500 per month - had a price for the new Mondeo @ £499.00 per month which i thought was pricey...

Would like to have the 2.4 Jtd alfa 159, but the co2 is a tad high - i want to stay within the 165 co2 of the ST....to keep the tax down a bit.

cheers

All on my wish list, but the tax man would be chasing my ass as the car will be fully funded including personal mileage etc.......hence the diesel route....frownfrown

Private mileage too? Ouch. Better off "paying back" private at 10-13p a mile to avoid the fuel scale charge if you do less than about 15k private a year.

Alfa will cost you tax on £5300, Mondeo £6500 and Audi £6300 so Alfa wins on raw figures. But, if it were my money, I'd take the Audi and buy smart price beans for a year wink

New Laguna GT Sport Tourer (as per Performance Car's Long Termer). Comes fully loaded and looks the part!

Problem is i do a 50 miles a day round trip to work & having a fully funded company car enables me to run the 21 turbo as a weekend toy...gonna have to test drive the alfa & Audi to see what's what.

Last year the tax man sent me a bill for £1,130.00 for "private fuel" this in my opinion was a fair price to pay for all the private miles i do.

Alfa Romeo 159 1.9 Sportwagon Ti - SEXY
Ford Mondeo 2.2 Titanium x Sport - BORING
Audi A6 Sportline - BORING

Any other ideas......?? - Get a BMW 320d touring if you can. I'd bet the lease is no more than the others. BMW tend to be pretty cheap on lease because of better rtained values. All very low on CO2 too, yet with fantastic performance and RWD fun.

Otherwise i'd bag the Alfa out of the above any day of the week. It's a sexy car, and also not one you'd sensibly want to own with your own money due to huge depreciation and poor reliability. As a company lease though, makes more sense.

I'm gonna visit the Alfa dealership in Bournemouth on monday & have a proper look at the 159 ti tourer - it's the better looking car out of the 3......

Topgear say that all Audi drivers are "cocks" & i've been a Mondeo man for too long now.....time for a change..

Mrs Cooke prefers the alfa as well......

Well, the "lease" option was forgotten about......
Last week I was given a good budget & told to go & buy a 3 series - which is exactly what i did....went to Woods, but they wouldn't budge on the £26k asking for a '58 plate M sport tourer - so went to Scotthalls in Eastleigh & bought myself a 3 series M Sport Tdi Tourer ('08 plate) with all the toys...picking it up Christmas Eve - a good Christmas bonus if you ask me.....

Well chuffed....
