Hola boys & girls...

I'm hoping to leave my current job & I'm ideally looking for a small business near Worthing I can slot into. What I'm after is mainly Sales/Administrative role where I can occasionally get involved in other parts of business.

I'm having a bit of a mind block at the mo, just trying to think of many sources of where jobs can be found in order to find the thing I'm after.

Current list is:
Reed.co.uk
Monster.co.uk
Totaljobs.com
Jobcentre website
Friday-Ad.co.uk

Of course there are the local rags too. My point is, have I missed anything out that anyone has recently used that maybe worth a shot aside from passing my details onto recruiters of course.

Don't know if it will be of any use but may be worth having a browse round: http://www.worthingfirst.org.uk/

It is the local economic partnership for Worthing and involves mainly SMEs. I'm not sure if it's on their website, but if not I can probably get you a list of the businesses who are part of Worthing First, it may give you some ideas or more people to contact.

Great idea! Had a quick browse, nothing clear about vacancies in local SME's. If you can get a list though, that would be incredible and exactly what I need.

Huge thank you! thumbup

Tried that Skeet, thanks. Also tried gumtree & jobserve. Found a few "possible" one's, nothing that makes me want to go "Yes I WANT to do that!" at the moment. Hey ho, I've got a month to find myself something.

.BOS Recruitment opposite the library - The lovely Ms Stone is pretty good.
The girls in Reed Worthing are bit disappointing - when I was in a job based in Worthing there was a lad called Alex there and he was magic - there now the girls are just disappointing in comparison.

Thing is head Chichester way and the work rates in general are nearly a third better than Worthing.
Hunters recruitment had a job advertised recently for the kind of role you have mentioned that was at Shoreham Airport but I can't find it on their website.

Keep an eye on websites like http://www.saywell.co.uk because now and again they advirtise those kinds of jobs plus you get to see the bosses motors sometimes!

Same for Chandlers BMW/Mini.

I tried to get a job at Saywell once, and yup, Pete has some lovely cars smile

What sort of sales role are you after ?

Don't know if software sales is your thing, but keep an eye on this site www.bondadapt.com or just give them a call, they have a few sales roles normally (both field and tele) smile

Brilliant, thank you! I may look @ Chichester again, although unless the wage is decent I don't think i can stomach heading through the chaos @ Arundel every day. Will definitely give BOS a call though.

& I think I saw the job you mentioned. I remember seeing one that was perfect salary wise, around that area & involved aeroplanes. It seemed to tick all the boxes & gave me the kick I needed to seriously get things moving, think it's gone now though frown

I'll have a look @ Saywells & Bondadapt. Not really sure what I'm after if I'm honest, open to suggestions. I guess at this stage I can really do what I like. The trouble I've got is determining what I want at the moment. Long term career is what I want/need, but if that's not available do I then go for the short term fix & nab any job? Decisions decisions!

Anyway, my current role is VERY mixed:

-Light reception work.
-Handling all new sales via Phone/Walk in clients.
-Putting together quotes over the phone or once I've measured up off drawings & plans.
-Heading up the sales side @ national exhibitions. So being there on the stand, chatting to customers & educating them on what we do & how we do it.

So all the above, then ALL the way through to unloading 40" containers with there orders on & loading the lorries & vans that take them to the customer.

That's just a very brief summary. Ideally what I want is a similar role which allows me to be there right at the start for the customer & ideally I can be there at the end when they're due to take delivery.

I'm currently working in Shoreham at the moment but live in Worthing - friends of mine have had good success with www.Grocerjobs.co.uk i think it is, or google, grocer jobs iirc.

Pretty much country wide but you can narrow down, or www.theargus.co.uk sometimes have some...

Grocer is good for FMCG and field sales.

Have you got any Account Management experience?
I had a phone call today from a lady called Katie at Reed in Brighton and thought it might do for you...
Account Manager for a Financial company, quality control, invoice checking, new customer nurturing and some cold calling; 30k. If it wasn't for the cold calling in a financial company I would be in there, you can bet your backside that the rate of new customer and cold calling is pretty high though, especially at 30 big ones.

Wired Sussex has job adverts, although it tends to be more IT / webdesign/graphics, but worth a look just in case.
