Best place to buy Trackday helmet?
Discussion
Does it need to be any particular spec ? If not then you could start out with the bike shops as they tend to have a good range, they generally however tend not to stock ones that meet the MSA requirements so if you plan to do anything MSA controlled in the future it may be worth getting one to meet the required spec. Having said that one of the currently MSA acceptable helmet types is being removed from the list soon so there should be a fair few lids coming onto the second hand market that have had very little use and would be ideal for track days. Would advise against mail order as you really need to try them on, like a pair of shoes one manufacturers size is not always the same as the next. If you don’t fancy the bike shop option then you have Merlin at the Castle Coombe circuit and GPR at Silverstone.
Try these people got my karting helmet here and it was Msa.

Take care because Kart and bike lids are to a different spec.
In the 2008 blue book :-
FIA 8860-2004
SNELL SA2005
SNELL SA2000
SFI 31.1A,31.2A
BS 6658 Type A/FR
BS 6658 – 85 Type A ( not type B )
But
BS 6658 – 85 Type A is going in 2010 and SNELL SA2000 is probably going.
