Port Solent - M27 Junction 12
Discussion
Took a drive down to Port Solent on Sunday morning to check out the breakfast in Lloyds Bar (Wetherspoons) in the marina. The car park was empty and it is massive.
The full english breakfast was £3.95 and they open at 0900.
Might make this a regular thing if anyone else fancies it.....

6th July is Breakfast Club at Goodwood. (Just fyi!)
Oh Yes!!! Forgot about that..Will be going there on the 6th July. Funny, I was thinking about meeting in Wickham Square and driving through the back road to Southwick, up the hill to the viewing point, down past QA Hospital, through Cosham and on to Port Solent. Would take around 40 minutes.
I am up for the 29th June, say 0800 in Wickham square ??

I'll drive the route tomorrow morning (15th Jun) and see what the mileage is and how long it takes.

OK... The route that I took was 12.8 miles and just over 20 mins.
Set off from Wickham Square (PO17 5JN) from the North East 'Tea Room end' along bridge street on to the B2177 to Southwick.
Stay on the B2177 following signs for Cosham/Portsmouth. (Do not follow the Red sign to Southwick Park).
Remain on B2177 and go up Southwick Road where you will see the RADAR masts on your right. (Qinetiq Test Site). The big grey RADARs are the test site for the Royal Navy's new Type 45 Destroyer...Actual size
At the top of the hill go around the roundabout following the Brown sign for 'Royal Armouries' (3rd exit) The road is not numbered but called the 'James Callaghan Drive'.
The RADARs will now be on your right with excellent views of Portsmouth Harbour and the Isle of Wight on your left.
Pass Fort Southwick on your right and a few miles later Fort Nelson, the home of the 'Royal Armouries Museum'
Follow 'James Callaghan Drive' down the hill untill you reach the lights for joining the A27.
Turn left heading for 'Portsmouth', 'Havant' and Portchester.
Stay on A27 through Portchester still heading for Portsmouth.
Look out for the Brown sign indicating 'Port Solent'. Turn right at the lights and drive in to Port solent.
Meet at the first car park on your right.
If we leave Wickham Square at 0815 we will be at Port Solent in good time for the 0900 opening of Lloyds Bar, part of the Wetherspoon chain. (PO6 4TP).
