Chichester - Good/Bad
Discussion
Afternoon ladies and gents.
Miss SP has just been awarded her 4th year masters position at Chichester Uni () so it looks like we're off again . I have very little knowledge of Chichester and was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers? We need to live within walking distance of the Uni as she has declined my offer of a Lupo Gti as a run about so some places to see/avoid would be handy!! Thanks guys!

Well done to miss sp, but why move when its about a 40 min run down the motorway? seems a lot of aggro for the sake of a drive or train ride.Miss SP has just been awarded her 4th year masters position at Chichester Uni () so it looks like we're off again . Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but before you decide to move, I recommend you check out the local house prices! They're not known for there affordability especially in the city where the uni sites are! Even the digs are comparatively expensive!
In the long run it may be better to buy a cheap run around and commute or buy property further away from Chichester itself and commute in to the city.

You and everyone else is of that opinion but she, being one to herself wants to live nearby which is not ideal. Still, she'll have the MA so who the hell am i to question it?
You need to put foot down on this right now as when she gets her MA you'll get a BA in ear ache Seriously though you need to look at the costs involved and its a two way street in a sucessful relationship.
With the cost of moving and living due to increase dramatically it is worth remembering the cost of a residence near to a uni is going to cost £££'s
Chichester is not cheap at the moment, and is a dump at the best of times.

xllifts/mrsxllifts, thank you for your advice on this one, TBH, i think i'm going to have discuss the cost of living implications of this proposed move. Speaking with some others from work they are all going down the same lines, it's expensive for what you get.
We're are planning to go and have a look around on monday, just to scope it out, i think i had beeter find a Lupo GTI on the way and see if i can't sway her...
To be fair to her, she has made a lot of sacrifice for me so far as far as living locality goes so i am going to have to be somewhat flexable over it, perhaps moving north of the town would be better? We'll have a look.
I did originally have a complete answer, we'll stay here and she can drive my Gti to uni, then i threw up over myself for even thinking that and went and cleaned her (Gti) to say sorry for offending her (Gti again)....
Cheers Mr & Mrs xllifts!!!!

The in-laws live in Hunston so we can always get you the property paper from there and post on to you each week.
Good luck

Ive just moved from Chi to Tidworth after having been there 3 years and working for BT, got to see many places and yeah, there are some dodgy places and some expensive ones too. Everywhere is expensive around Chi, Bognor is a drop down in price but for some obvious reasons if you ever go there !! Personally id drive in and out all the time, I worked in Marchwood (military port) for a year and did that drive each day. Yet again, any questions just email or post up here ok

...and a cracking pub at the harbour..
Dell Quay? Itchenor? Bosham? It's a big harbour with lots of waterside pubs (some more watery than others )The Southern Brighton-Portsmouth service has largely been replaced by a Brighton - Soton service roughly every half-hour, after South-West got their marching orders from the Rail Regulator.
The scheduled Chi-Soton Central timing is just about an hour.
sad bloke with a railway timetable
Ha ha, Thursdays is a bit of a 'wine bar' and I wouldnt pay to go there, cant even get a pint in the place. Bognor isnt exactly better either !! Nightlife is very limited indeed, the pubs and clubs all have to shut and kick everyone out by 12 cause there inside the city wall, on New Years last year Lloyds had packed up and shut by 12:15 !!
