Any reccomendations for a good pub or wine bar in or around Horsham?

Looking for somewhere with a good atmosphere but not too lively/loud or chavvie!
I'm not implying that Horsham is full of chavs - I have no idea! I've never been there after dark

I have been tasked by Mrs Page to locate a nice establishment to take one of her new work colleagues (from Holland) and her husband out for a nice relaxing evening. rolleyes

TIA

There's also Bar Vin, but I think thats a bit more livelier (quite loud music) although I don't know if they play it every night

Good call on The Black Jug.

What day of the week would this be Pagey?

If you fancy a giggle (and want to look at some young eye candy when the Mrs isnt looking) then, whilst at the chavvy end of the scale, Thurs, Fri and Sat nights, B52s in Piries Place is worth stopping in for a vodka (and is run by my best mate, so gets the vote from me). I was in there with the rugby boys on Saturday night and a very nice (ok, she wasnt THE best) young lady took a fancy to me and proudly showed me she could get 4 fingers down the back of her throat. Reet classy hehe

Pubs in Horsham seem to be very 'day of the week' sensitive, but you'll be safe with the BJ (fnaar) most days of the week. Try their selection of vodkas...takes some drinking (well, the drinking is alright, its the standing up afterwards that seems to be a problem)

Bar Vin is OK as a drinking place, gets too busy Fri/Sat to have a nice meal imo.

My best mate runs the place smile

There's a right gobby bastard on the door at the weekend. I may just forget to warn him there's a group of bodyguards coming down one evening :snigger:

Let me know if you do plan on going, I'll drag my sorry arse down there and buy you a pint (of Absinthe hehe)

Hardest part will be getting in as a group rolleyes

scratchchin Does he work directly for your mate or for a company??
Horsham not being one of our regular haunts, we can normally swing our way in as a group as there is normally someone who knows one of us smile
My missus hates it if we go out in Brighton, we get spotted in the queue and waved straight in past all the searches etc. Makes for more drinking time biggrin

Works for him I think.

If you let me know when, and promise to behave yourselves, I'll speak to my mate. Shouldnt be a problem smile

Do you know Big Mick, Keith, Jamie etc, ex Honey Club door staff?

Yeah, I suppose if your looking to bonk drunk teenage girls who fall out of the local watering hole then Bar Vin on a Friday night is for you - but take sweeties.

Should you fail in this task then you can always de-stress yourself by just popping across to B52's for a bit of a punch-up but get there early to avoid disappointment.

hehe

The Black Jug is favourite.

shout Keep up at the back. He's already done the Black Jug.

I have a feeling Pagey and his mates may be able to look after themselves should a ruckass start smile (and I'll be the short fat one hiding behind them smile)
