It’s Longleat hill climb this weekend. TR register, GTD 40, and Porsche clubs are the invited classes on Sat and on Sun it is the Ginetta and Ferrari clubs + all the usual Road going, Mod Prod and Single seater classes on both days.

It’s an MSA regulated Hill Climb organised by the Woolbridge club, so no you won’t be able to drive the hill without an entry. To enter you also need a licence (which is actually quite easy), a suitable helmet, and driving overall. Wollbridge, unlike some other clubs do run road going classes so you can enter in most production cars after doing only a few things to comply with the rules. In fact most of the Ferrari and Porsche club cars will be in fairly standard trim and driven to the event. Obviously the proper hill climb cars that arrive on trailers and run super sticky slicks are significantly quicker.

Come along and see what it is about, then you could enter next year.

From memory I think it is 105db @ 2/3 max revs. I normally measure at 100 +/- 1
