Hi all,

I have just purchased an Audi 80 Cabriolet and although it has some nice extra - there is no Bose upgrade.. So the stereo sound is pretty crap. Now as I know absolutely nothing about car hi-fi I would love some advice on how to improve it! The head unit is a fairly new Blaupunkt 4x50, so I'm guessing I need to purchase an Amp and then at a later date some replacement speakers? I don't the head unit model and spec to hand, however I can post it up later if necessary.

I don't really want to go down the route of base boxes etc as my last A4 had the basic up-rated sound system and I was more than happy with that. I also have a habit of not keeping my cars long so don't want to spend lots of money.

So:
- Which make and model of Amp?
- Where is the best place to buy it?

Oh, and I live in Bournemouth, so will be looking for someone locally to fit it.

Thanks is advance for any ideas guys.

I fitted some pretty good Alpine speakers to my car a few months back, put in a cheapish Sony head unit and was away. Didn't bother with an amp or anything like that!
Sound quality much improved and was done for not much money...
The speakers I bought were £40ish.

Speak to Mike at Bavaria Autoradio along Castle Lane (tell him David @ K-Tec Racing said to call).

He has done several installs for me and his work is top notch.

Second that recommendation Mike and the guys at Bavaria do a top job.

In a cabriolet you need more than a standard head unit and speakers. An amp of some description upgraded speakers should help you.

Good luck...
