Nice pub between Southampton and Pompey

Needed for a possible meeting place for Hooners.
So largish (safe) carpark, open all day for grub, nice venue etc

Any good suggestions please ?

I'm from Pompey, well Southsea.

There aren't that many great places with a large car park. You could try Parsons Collar in Whitely, or Osborne View in Stubbington has got a huge car park and great views of the sea.

You could always try Gun Wharf, it's got very secure parking.

Is this for tyre kicking, or the start or finish for a hoon!!! I havent had a good blast since the last Wickham to Goodwood!

By the way when is the next breakfast club so we can have another good run out?

recently racked my brain for similar in south dorset... temporarily gave up when my search wandered off the map...

> bonus if near a decent straight road

It's a thursday afternoon/early evening meeting point prior to getting onto the ferry to go to Bilbao (Megahoon07).

If you're going to Bilbao you could go to Gun Wharf, secure parking, plenty to of places to chose from.

Or somewhere like Port Solent, not so much choice, but massive car park.

Alternatively try Old Portsmouth, there's a large quiet car park on East Street where the fishing boats are. Couple of nice pubs with lovely views.

May have to pop down myself for a look.

Portsdown Hill's your best bet! Lovely view, good roads up to it, not far off your route too, and all down hill to the ferry.
There's a burger bar there where loads of cars and bikes usually meet , and of course as said before theres a pub, the churchilean across the road!
here it is
