Classic Car MOT tester around Southampton

I'm after an MOT tester around the Southampton/Portsmouth area.

My father lives in France and needs to get his 1953 Austin Somerset MOT tested. I'm looking for an MOT tester who has an understanding/interest in the older car. Plan is get the boat over to Portsmouth, have the car tested - drive it home to France.

Any ideas?

Portsmouth MOT Test Centre (02392662475) have always done a good job for me.
I have put cars of all types through them including kitcars so they should be ok with yours.
Have never come away thinking they were a little harsh nor have I later found something they missed.

Try E&J Jarvis, Onslow Road, Southampton. This is a very long established family business with an excellent reputation. The last time I was there they had a 1930's MG and another car from the 50's in for service/repair. I have known and used them for years and highly recommend them.

Eastleigh Collage. They carry out MOTs for training. God thing is they spend time & not get funny if things arent to modern standards.
