For the past few months an area of Southampton has virtually become a no-go area as it is transformed week after week into a race track for dangerous car cruising.

MUNGOhehe, was you in that mix of 40 police?

**I have NEVER raced around their**

I have little respect for the police and this has weakened it more IMO. Its true, there is no-where to go and for the majority of us we do nothing wrong!. The Police seem to think EVERYBODY down there is the same(Tarring us with the same brush)mad

Yeah, The Police are always making sweeping generalisations like that, I think it's just wrong imo.

I feel a rant coming on.

One 19-year-old, who did not wish to be named, had his car prohibited by vehicle inspectors for having two bald tyres.

He said: "I was just stopped because my car is modified and I'm young. It's discrimination. I've already got three points on my licence and now I'm going to get even more.

I suspect he was stopped because his tupperware was falling off and while the Police were at it discriminated him for having 2 bald tyres.

Why do these people think it is OK to gather in these places and cause mayhem!? OK I accept that probably 80% of the attendees were good law abiding citizens but the onus must be on them to self police the idiots that turn up; I don't believe for a minute that the were all driving perfectly normally.

Perhaps they should change venue each time and all gather outside of each others houses and block their streets and amenities, I'm sure all their friends and families would understand. It can't have been like it was a surprise the numbers growing massively and some common sense needed using.

Hey heres an idea! If you all like to gather and tear around - or just park up and kick tyres - between 300 of you it shouldn't be too expensive to hire Goodwood for a day and do it safely?

Unless you self police and hang the idiots out to dry what do you expect? Have you ever seen any police interest at any PH meet? (Apart from the odd one stopping for a browse and informal chat) Silly/dangerous anticts would not be welcomed of tollerated. Anyone driving like a tw@t would be invited to leave.

Think about the possible results of such actions.

Don't just moan, do something about it. Organise your own meets. Don't accept the idiots and make it clear dangerous driving will not be tollerated.
