Has anyone in the area noticed an increase in traffic recently? I'm in Winchester and over the last few months I’ve noticed a huge increase specifically in the evenings about 9pm.

Thats progress for ya!I guess you'll only get traffic if the wind is in the right direction...

Krusty - do you mean Air traffic?

Whereabouts in Winchester are you? they have been trialing several new flight paths into the airport recently. We were in Highcliffe area till about 8 months back, was getting steadily worse as the new path to take flights over Chandlers Ford somehow meant more coming over us

Yep Air Traffic. I'm in Hyde and they've started flying directly overhead in the evenings.

It wouldn't surprise me if it was down to the new routes then. They started getting a LOT of complaints from people in Eastleigh about the volume of traffic (why? they knew there was an airport when they moved in!) so started shifting the flight paths about. Some area's of chandlers ford that previously had no traffic suddenly had considerable amounts.

Ok, I wasn't aware of a Hyde in/nr Winch, hence my comments. Also, the hyde nr Fordingbride is almost directly under one of the airways that feeds Gatwick also....

Had a call back from Southampton airport saying that they have a problem with a piece of their equipment and therefore some of the larger planes have to come in on what they're calling a 'Beacon approach' It's only temporary until they get it fixed...

We moved from Lowford/Bursledon about 6 months ago to Titchfield Common, the air traffic at our old house was getting worse every month.

i've got the southcoast/london mainline down one side of the house, the m3 the other side + a flight path where planes turn over my head, to complete the set all i need is a ferry port in northen eastleigh, but i doubt that will happen anytime soon

oh actually a motor circuit next door would rock
