Valeter near Portsmouth good with odour
Discussion
Any recommendations? I bought my wife a car and it would appear the last owner was a smoker. Unfortunately the dealer disguised this extremely well on the test drive.
I am looking for a professional valeter who can remove the odour. The car and dash in general seem very clean. I have wiped all the surfaces with dashboard cleaning wipes and nothing has come off. We've sprayed the whole car with Auto Glym Odour Eliminator but after about a week the smell came back.
Any suggestions please?

You may find that its inside the heater ducts and on the heater matrix/aircon, does the air coming out of the vents smell?
My Civic had a bit of a whiff of smoke and it mostly all went away after putting the aircon on recirculate and cold and spraying a load of neutradol aerosol spray into the footwell, then closing the door and leaving it for a few minutes.
After a few months its come back a little so might have another go.
I`m also tempted to try a chlorine dioxide deodoriser.

I had a close sniff of the vents with the blowers on gently and couldn't smell anything. I did ponder the odour bomb things but my wife wants something done by a professional.
I have heard Luke recommended for detailing before but wasn't sure if he dealt in removing odours from interiors.

as been mentioned above I would try Luke G above - will do a great job. He managed to get a rank Garlic smell out of an Elise once (a huge dish of potato dauphinoise, but that's another story...) - funnily enough a short time later the said car was bought by a French bloke who exported it back home where there's a good chance it was re-introduced to the les odour d'garlic.
I asked friend of mine who does carpet cleaning about getting rid of the smell of smoke in a Merc 500 I had. The previous owner had chain smoked in it. It was like driving around in an old ash tray
He sprayed the whole interior with some chemicals and within three days the smoking smell was gone
Unfortunately I was then unable to drive the car because the chemicals used were so strong that it gave me a sore throat every time i got in it
After about a month the car became useable,I then desided to sell it. A guy came from Wales to buy the car and after he paid me. He lit up a cigarette got in the car and drove off
So the moral of the story is sell the car to a smoker or tell your wife to start smoking!!

Biosweep came round this afternoon and did their thing. I can't smell anything in the car now, will be interesting to see what it's like after a couple of days in the sunshine with the windows closed.
We (Toyota in Waterlooville & Chichester) have used them a number of times, and have always been pleased with the results, good at removing smoky, doggy, and dead body smells!Gassing Station | South Coast | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
