There is indoor karting in Eastleigh which is pretty much deserted during the week - last time we turned up, the 2 of us had the track to ourselves:

Thruxton has outdoor karting which is a lot better than the indoor option except if it decides to piss it down down half way though and you have nothing to change into afterwards smile

Thruxton looks like a good bet. Nice one.

Imho Wessex is the best indoor one, can't comment on clay as I've never been there but thruxton is excellent. Did matchams once and never again, more like a 4x4 course than kart.

Definately Thruxton or Clay Pigeon for 'proper karting' but if it rains it is an issue at Thruxton as they leave slick tyres on the karts so it is like driving on ice, i am unsure if that is the same at CP

Had a wet day of karting at thruxton (well started sodden and was dry by the last session)

Myself and 1 or two others were the only ones that managed a whole lap without an off hehe

Its a good laugh though if you're not worried about being technically good. Terminal understeer followed by a snap into oversteer which can be held under power on some of the longer bends. biggrin

Indoor I would say Eastliegh. Outdoor I would say Thruxton. Wessex is a bit "corners for corner's sake" for me.
