Hello all, I'm getting married next year and am currently looking for a location. All the standard wedding venues are great etc but the Mrs owns a shop that specialises in the sort of decorations you pay through the nose for. So she wants just a blank canvas to do her own thing.

So I am looking for a standard barn that we can rent for a day and a half that is empty/clearable for that day.

Any ideas where to start?

Location wise, anywhere in Sussex/Kent/Surrey really.

Slightly out of your area, but we got married at the Tithe barn, Ditcham, near Petersfield. Stunning venue...

Good luck.

I went to a wedding last week at the place below, was a nice venue. No idea if it's what you're looking for but thought I would mention it smile

Coombes farm just outside of Shoreham in the countryside. Big solid brick barn with lovely surroundings, small chapel, parking, camping possible. My friend was married there and she too decked it out as she does events. I missed the set up but helped with taking it down and was amazed to see the grey breeze blocks underneath. Totall transformed it. They also have a small bar in the barn for the reception.

Worth checking it out.

Friends had their reception here last year, might be what you are after, it's in Newdigate.

Spoke to the girl I know who just married in one....it was in Michelmarsh near Romsey. Very rustic, a fair bit of DIY used to get it looking nice but highly recommended I'm told.
