Just had word through the B&HMC newsletter that this year's event is cancelled due to advice of safety experts and that the investigation into last year's tragic accident is still ongoing.

It's a shame but probably for the best.

Thoughts to the family and friends of the passenger who passed at last year's event .

Missed last year but hoped to go to this year. Shame. I did hear about the accident I think.

A mate mentioned the possibility of going whilst we were at Goodwood a few day back. The first thing I thought of was 'will it actually be on this year?' after last year's incident. Sad to hear this news, but not surprised. frown

I think it's only this year at the moment.

When it does get going again I can see a LOT of safety changes happening. Particularly near the Concorde II.

No. The Brighton & Hove Motor Club also hold a sprint at Goodwood each year.

I'm not privvy to the exact circumstances of the accident and as always, thoughts go to family etc.

Motorsport is dangerous - for both spectators and participators. It's a shame to see the event cancelled and hope it doesn't set the tone for some other events?

Sadly I think it has played right in to the hands of the Greens in Brighton.I think the Speed Trials must sit awkwardly with their views.
