So a few months ago the speed limit was dropped to 50mph between west meon but and west meon.

After driving to the parents tonight they've now dropped the speed limit to 50mph between south of droxford all the way to Wickham.

Does anyone know if there intending to drop the speed limit for most of the A32?

Wouldn't surprise me, it's fashionable, and in your best interests in case you didn't know......

I was up in the Peak District last weekend and unfortunately I have seen the future. Blanket 50mph speed limits and SPECS doing the policing. I drove the Snake Pass and the Cat & Fiddle. I saw unmarked cars and a mate who drives it reglarly has said they do indeed use helicopters at the weekend when the weather is good.
Trust me, it is coming our way. The number of serious accidents with motorcyclists on both the A272 and A32 will give the do gooders all the ammo they need.
I know to get some proper fun from drivimg soon will mean more track days.

A339 from Alton to Basingstoke is going the same way soon - there are yellow spray paint markings at the side of the road where they're going to put the 50 signs in. Sad times, but I think we've got a fairly "anti-car" bunch at Hampshire County Council, who were hell-bent on cutting the county's NSLs.

I can't really see why the A32 from West Meon to the crossroads is a 50 - there's nothing there and it's a fairly straight piece of road.

Last of the A339 signs went up today. 50mph from the waterworks bend through to Basingstoke (nr. Holiday Inn), with a 40mph zone through Herriard. Sad times.

Glad they are closing our Boringstoke office now - that road was the only decent reason for going there. frown

On the plus side, Kit Kat have introduced a new Basingstoke limited edition. It's like a normal Kit Kat, only with an extra finger.

106 Jack FM.

The only station I listen to now - just my kind of humour!

What do you get if you cross Basingstoke on a bike?

Mugged.

Steve and I have recently ditched the DAB crap for FM. Never did up until recently as all the local FM stuff is just so wishy-washy middle of the road, or you've got Radio 1 which I've grown out of (but Steve hasn't, weirdly!)

Then along came Jack playing what it wants, which usually involves at least two ELO tracks each day. Quality.

Anyway, hijack over hehe

Another good road ruined.

I decided to take a detour Sunday by west meon hut down the alresford road, pretty much just about wide enough to get a car down and it's a national with some pretty blind bends!!

I just see no need for the sections of road they've reduced as they're pretty straight.

It does seem strange that other roads off of the roads with new lower limits are still national, yet wide open straight sections of A339/A272/A32 are reduced to a crawl. All in the name of "safety" of course, which will certainly be enforced too.
