South coast Le Mans goers route planning
Discussion
As we seem to have quite a number of South Coast PHers heading down on the Thursday, I thought would it be ace to organise a convoy route for all those interested in a more pleasurable drive than just bolting down the motorway. Im thinking sea views, war memorials, better driving roads and good eating. Ive had a look at google maps and street-view and the coastal route on the east coast of the peninsula looks really nice. There also looks to be some nice places to stop for pics and food too.
This is what ive looked at so far (not 100% sure on which way is most pleasurable south of the coastal section), but as i know many of you are long time LM goers im more than happy to have you suggest your own ideas. Also, i know there are a couple of ferries arriving in Cherb that day with SC PHers on board so do we want to wait around in Cherb until the last morning ferry comes in so we can get some decent numbers in one convoy?
The Poole ferry to Cherb gets in at 13.45. What time do the Pompey lot get into Cherb?
Eddie
Edited as ive spent abit more time looking for decent roads: Lots of nice little villages. Avoiding motorways. Good quality road surfaces for those in stiff metal. Long, long, long straights. We dont need to boot it all the way but good scouting and changing round of leaders could make for safe fun with little interest from the plod.

Edit: Might get hold of some radios so we can keep in contact on the road.

Nice idea mate but a load of us are going across on the Dover Calais ferry this year on Thursday. Couldn't stomach the £300 odd they wanted for the Portsmouth route when the alternative was only £80ish (slightly more if you have paid for lap dancing). Think we will just have to see you there.
