Has this event been held in the past? As I've never heard of it before.
Looking at the style of the Poster it looks very similar to the Modified Madness event that has been run on Thorney until a couple of years ago.Wonder if it is the same organiser?
There has been an event/vehicle rally at Stokes Bay on the August bank holiday Monday for over 50 years
All proceeds have always gone to local charities, myself and a few hardcore owners have supported the rally for years in various cars, (my first was in the early 90`s)the reason i say hardcore is that the event has a lot of better competition from local, ish, shows nowadays and the numbers of Exhibiting/Show vehicles has been on the decline for years, starting by the loss of the vintage/classic bus and coaches who would take passengers out for rides .
10 years ago this was a better show than the likes of "Concordes classics" and possibly the Wickham boxing day meet.
The show is in need of a major revamp and it looks like this may be happening,
last year there was a large "modified car" section and i can only presume that
they have volunteered to take it on? Good luck to them and if the proceeds continue to go to local charities, myself and the Tamora will be there this year accompanied by the "Southways" restored Sierra XR4i, celebrating its 30th birthday
