Hi Guys,

A plea to the PH faithfull:

I was planning on doing a track day in South Wales on Saturday 14tg May but have left it too late to get a towbar fitted!

Does anybody fancy towing my Phoenix from Plymouth there and back? Obviously, I'll cover fuel costs and passeger laps a plenty!

is it some kind of obscure tow cat you cant get a towbar for? Any "normal" car i could get a towbar fitted within a week, easy.


Is it pembery? I can tow it there 6th may, if its any help

It's more the cost than the availability that I haven't prepared for to be honest - £320 for a towbar is a lot more than expected!

You renting a trailer?

After breaking down at my first track day last year I'm considering whether renting trailers is the key... I guess 2 day rentals will be £80...
But nowhere I've seen online has trailers for hire with a suitable MAM to be towed by my Passat.

More thinking required...

he already has a trailer, just needs a tow car

£ 320 for a tow bar........what !!!!! i'm not surprised you werent prepared for that. the last tow bar I had fitted cost me £99 + VAT

Not renting this time, I've got my own Brian James Minno which is great for the kit car but too small when I want to take anything else.

I'm old enough to have a "full" trailer licence so don't have to worry too much about weights!

Just looked uP passat towing weight.

Passat MAM = 1825kg & max tow weight 1500kg.

So total 3325 so I'm good to go with a braked trailer.

Can the minno really fit in a garage... Don't suppose you know overall length and width?
