During accountancy exams/training, I stayed in a hotel (left car there all day) in Clifton and got a bus down from the Park, to Templemeads. Only good thing was the fact I had no changes. Get on, sit down amongst the ill & unclean biggrin (often had to stand) and get off. No way could I have driven, mainly due to lack of parking in the city centre. So glad I have qualified now, no more training for me, and no more buses!

Here's my experiment -

The other day my oil and water temps went north again (turned out the viscous on the fan was shagged after all!) so I had to leave my car in Chepstow with the garage

We were facing a 2 hour wait for a train to Bristol, so took a taxi to Cribbs and took the X bus to WSM

X bus thinks me - Motorway, reasonably quick

Nope!

Got off the MWay at Portishead and then took every possible convuluted route to get to the Clevedon junction (including areas of Portishead and Clevedon I'ne never seen in 38 years of living around Weston)

Total time on bus = almost 2 hours for a jorney that takes 20 minutes in the car (slowly!)

And these useless fecking wotsits in the Govt and council want people to take public transport as a serious alternative?

Do me a favour!

furious

(note to self: next time, bus to Temple Meads followed by train, or more likely Taxi from Chepstow to WSM and F**k the cost)

I was going to Sand, but I thought you'd be busy at work!
