Hi all - I've just bought a house in Bradley Stoke. It's my first house so I'm still a bit new to all this - but I'll be needing to get in contact with a lawyer regarding the purchase (as is standard with buying a house). Are there any folks out there who can recommend someone to use?

TIA.

Never heard a bad word against Linda Shipway & co in Nailsea & thats after about 50+ purchases i've known her do over the years 01275 790792. Dont worry that she is in Nailsea, lots of Bristol estate agents recommend her as she gets the job done.

If you have any questions about the whole buying process, not sure what your supposed to do next or worried someone may be steering you the wrong way then feel free to drop me an email or call anytime.

Good luck! smile

Thanks very much buddy. For now I think I'm all set with the process (my old man's something of a property whiz... or so he likes to think wink) but if I get stuck I'll drop you a message.

Clive Westlake in Nailsea. He's been very good and proactive with my purchases before.
When we bought this house we were roped into using a big chain of solicitors recommended my the developer as we wanted a quick move. Never again though, they were worryingly bad. We were ringing them every 10 minutes just to make sure they were keeping up.
Congrats on the new house by the way.

Richard Tolson @ Cooke Painter & Shepstone in Backwell is excellent. Always acts for us and most our friends and family.

I used to use Richard when I was doing development around Bristol, I had comletely forgoton about him, but I have to say he was always very good, balanced, pragmatic and user friendly.

Thanks for the input everybody. I went with Linda in the end, I spoke to a few guys at work on Monday, her name came up once or twice. Since I'm after a fairly speedy transfer, I contacted the estate agents on Tuesday with my choice.

Hopefully this thread will be able to help anybody else who has the same question.

Thanks again.
