Ok no I'm not out to buy anything yet. I do have eye on a nice Lotus S2 in the future

the TVRCC pic in the SW spotted thread got me thinking

I've been apart of, or know people who have been in many owners clubs over the years, kit car, lotus, TVR etc... but most if not all say the same.

You want a few friendly people to meet up, drive, chat etc...

But always get the people with matching t shirt, shoes, stickers on the car, matching Cap, jumper and so on who want to go shooting after at their local posh club.

Which is the best down to earth local owners club in the south west?

Not talking modded cars here, Max power thing.

just interested to find out more about the local owners club and how people find them.

the most down to earth normal owners club I am aware of in the triumph Dolly sprint club who I have nothing to do with. The BIL has one So that's the only way I know about them

I'm personally not very keen on owners clubs, just because you have the same model car doesn't mean you have anything else in common.
the meets I have enjoyed most have been more "attitude clubs" like pistonheads and drag racing series', stuff like that where people are together because they enjoy doing the same things.
different people have very different ideas of what cars are for.

I'd agree with Dave. There's also a fair amount of politics in owners clubs. I've never seen that on PH.

What about the Weston Motor Club instead?

You won't get a more friendly club than this one and they raise huge amounts of money for the Childrens Hospice South West whilst having loads of fun.http://www.smallcarsbighearts.co.uk/
