Bristol Centenary Celebrations at Castle Combe 25/26th June
Discussion
Hi Guys,
Hope you will be interested in our special event in June details as follows, I've been asked to post the following:
'Bristol Motor Club are celebrating their Centenary in 2011 with a special 2 day event at Castle Combe on the weekend of 25/26th June at Castle Combe Circuit.
I have been asked by the Club Committee to engage with sports car clubs to generate a display of cars which typify club motorsport, the very reason the Club was formed in 1911.
There is more information available here http://www.bristolmc.org.uk/Centenary_Year.htm
Kind Regards,
Paul Monis
Bristol Motor Club'
If you or any motor club members wish to contact our organiser Paul Monis on his email address in the link above and he can organise space etc at the venue on the day. Otherwise just pop up on the weekend to see some really interesting machinery not usually seen at Combe!

With DG I am helping to organise this event and in short I WANT YOUR CAR!
The event is to celebrate the first 100 years of Bristol Motor Club formed, rather obviously, in 1911, as the Bristol Light Car and Motorcycle Club which has evolved over the years and is now a rahter famous club being the organisers of the first ever motor sport event at Castle Combe in 1950. To celebrate this and other notable events, the Club are hosting an event on 26th June 2011 at Castle Combe circuit. Some very interesting and rare cars have already been "entered" in the display and it is our intention to try to gather a car form every year that the Club has been in existence.
Naturally this is a mammoth task and its where you kind people come to my aid. If you havea car built between 1911 and 2011, I want to know what it is and whether you would be willing to bring it to Castle Combe on the 26th June to enjoy a very relaxed and informal celebration of all things automobile. I jest but it matters not whether your car is a Lamborghini or a Lotus, an MG or a McLaren, if you would like to be part of this event. Please contact me via pmonis@hotmail.com or visit http://www.bristolmc.org.uk/Centenary_Year.htm
In return, we can offer sunshine (maybe), some very fine cars to view (definately) and the opportunity to demonstrate your vehicle on track as part of a paced parade session during the day. Please note, to comply with the wishes of Castle Combe circuit management, the parade laps will be paced in accordance with their strict noise regulations.
I look forward to hearing from you!....

Assuming the office of unfair trading doesn't step in (26th June is our wedding anniversary...) I can bring a 1974 Dolomite Sprint and / or a 1999 Chimaera.
did i metnion that it would be a perfect wedding anniversary occasion??... Would prefer the Dolly as 90s stuff is easier to source but happy either way as I dont have a TVR yet. can you drop me an email please.Gents,
thanks very much.
fidgits, i'll be in touch.
ewen, the mustang would be ace, the L7C are already at the sprint the previous day and hopefully arranging a display of some special editions 7s, JPE, HPC etc
luciano, the aston would be great, there will be some classic astons but a modern example would be great. noise shouldnt be an issue as the parades will be sensibly paced to ensure dBs dont creep up, Combe Management's major concern was tyre squal (its tyre squeal rather than engine noise which apparently really grates the neighbours)
still on the lookout for interesting historic, vintage, classic etc, competition cars are welcome too!
thanks very much.

Don't worry you won't get tyre squeal from me I've put the date in the diary so consider 2007 filled.

OK, I'll confirm once I know the Mustang is road legal again (no reason it shouldn't be but I've learnt to be cautious ). I thought there would be a gaggle of Caterhams available and at least it means I don't have to co-ordinate getting 2 cars there thanks very much.
