Hopefully won't be elsewhere this time. Will ensure I bring a set of wheels for the front with old tyres on as that surface just munches good tread like there's no tomorrow!

It would be interesting putting the Phoenix up against the V8. You're a lot lighter though.

I expect I will go up for a look.

I might even go down the strip if I can find something fair equal to my Focus.

Last time I went, there was the whole gamut of machines. It's not really about beating other cars as such, but there's bound to be someone else with a similar ride.

I'll race you! It's all good fun.

Sounds good, hopefully better weather this time.

Are heels de rigeur, or can we get away with pumps?

Need a challenger? wink What Focus is it? I could probably beat a stock (old) RS and an ST, but would struggle a lot against a new RS or an ST/old RS which has been fettled.

Boring 2.0, not even an ST170. I went for a drive on Dartmoor with a lad in a Mk2 FRS and the difference in performance was hedious boxedinfrown

Il still give you a race though, will just have to hope you stall or something wink

Bugger, with your extra horses chimtvr I'm gonna have to lose about 4 stone to keep the power to weight close!!
Might just chop off my left leg and go for a hand clutch!

Well, if it gives you hope last time I went to this I cooked my clutch on the 2nd run. Admittedly that was a total P.O.S (400 lb/ft YEAH RIGHT!) kevlar clutch and now I have something way stronger. There is nothing worse than putting your foot to the floor in 3rd gear @ 40mph and revs going up to the redline and you're still doing 40mph.... biggrin

I'll probably go along. Hope it's not a massive chav fest like the last event there a few months ago.

What's the surface like?

it is the kind of thing that will attract the scallies. Surface is "rough" to say the least, hence my comment about taking spare "bald" tyres with me to use as I don't want to waste good tread on the concrete.
