I wonder if any South Western PH folks could let me know what the weather is doing at present in the South West, especially near Taunton.

I presently live in the US, but my Mum is outside Taunton, and from what I have read in the UK papers, the South West is in line to get some heavy snow fall.

Any reports would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks

Around Exeter, which is about 30 miles south of Taunton we had about 2" I think in a huge burst this morning between 6am and 9am. After that it has been sunny and most has melted, now about 3 degrees, but more snow threatened for this evening and quite a bit for saturday morning too!

We've had a fair bit in Weston-super-Mare today. Pretty heavy and settling. About 3"/4" I'd guess with more on the way.

Glad I took the day off from the Swindon commute today.

Absolutely nothing up Swindon way. Lovely sunny but freezing cold day.

K22, Mum's near Glastonbury, so I assume she'll get hit in this snowfall? Thanks to all for the feedback.

Motorways south of Bristol are clear (M5) and we've had more snow than Bristol

I've heard they were realy bad this morning from a mate who drove that way, but might well have been cleared by now.
