Chaps, just wondered if there is any other parking available at Bristol other than the site mentioned on 'the' airport website?
Or is that it?

Thanks for any help. Just wondering if I can beat £29 to park for just under 3 days. smile

The difficulty always is "you gets what you pays for"

Parking in the airport is convenient. Either get the bus for 4 minutes or so from the main car park on the south side, or pay a bit more and walk 2-3 minutes to the terminal from the car park on the north side.

If you factor in the cost of your time when parking off-airport then travelling to and from, you might be surprised at how little you save.

PS - I don't work for Bristol airport!!! biggrin

I always just park on site aswell, there's that pub at the bottom of the hill that does parking (and i assume shuttles you up), but as mentioned you get what you pay for wink

I would only consider parking in the official Bristol airport parking. It's far better than anything else out there.

I use the parking thats right outside the terminal. Used to use the silverzone one where you get on a bus for 2 mins to the terminal.

I have used Birds farm when I last went to the airport, they charged me £30 for a week which included the short taxi ride from the Farm to the airport and back at any time of day or night.

Nice people who I would recommend and use again.

Giles, next time try B&B at The Renaissance - £105 including 15 days parking. 3 mins from the terminals.

Or book in advance online - 7 days in the on airport business parking £72 (T5) and 9 days £77 (T3) in June and September this year. You keep your own keys too there which is a must for me. No B&B there though smile

My son used to work in the silver zone parking. The way it works is you leave your car and they drive it to the parking slot. Whilst he was there, there were a few accidents and usually with the nicer cars. If you have a Metro or something similar then you will probably be safe. If you have a performance car than expect it to be thrash around. Usually it was scratches however they did a lot of damage to one high performance BMW. They clean the mud off of the cars with a jet washer before you get them back. The Forge car park and the Airport Tavern pub which were mentioned above will all give you a good and safe enough service.

I recently managed to get 6 weeks at Purple Parking at Heathrow for £105. But for that you park in a compound guarded by some of the finest rottweilers this side of Walthamstow, your car is used as a taxi by all purple parking staff in order to take their kids to Alton Towers for the weekend, then it's hired out to anyone that wants to pay enough for it......... Before it's delivered back to you smelling of kebabs and worn knickers. Apparantly.
Wish me luck !

Be interested to hear your experience of Bristol Airport.

Getting through security last month when we went to Egypt was a total fking joke.

The queue went all the way back to Subway - yes from upstairs.

This was around 12.00ish on a Thursday.

Thing that annoyed me so much was the staff wandering along the queue "advising" the punters that they could buy their way through the Fasttrack lane. I think it was £5 or £6 each.

They even have several machines from which to buy your Fasttrack tickets !!!

Smacked to me of intentionally creating long delays to encourage people to pay extra. Hard to deny when they have machines at the ready!

And to cap it all, they now charge you for a luggage trolley in the Baggage Claim Hall.

Money grabbing bds.

The whole experience was so unpleasant that we are highly unlikely to fly from Bristol again.

that sound awful. I went from Heathrow Terminal5 last week and that was a fantastic experience, took about 3 mins to get through the queue and airside. Great shops, good layout

I have already booked a summer trip from Bristol next year, 8 of us. I must remember my £80 of bribe money that appears necessary.
To be honest I wont pay it. Rip off merchants.

I didn't pay their fee either.

I queued for nearly 30 mins, without moving very far at which point I got pissed off with waiting.

So, I dragged the missus with me and went up in the lift, crossed through the overpriced coffee shop and walked straight into the Fasttrack lane.

I was ready for an arguement, but I wasn't challenged at all.

I would love to give you my experience, but I flew from Gatwick instead!
Annoyingly it meant I lost the money on the tickets from Bristol, but fortunately while I was in Scotland (during the snow!) my flights to Bristol were cancelled and subsequently refunded! biggrin
