The Kings Arms in Didmarton just south-west of Tetbury is excellent.

The Weighbridge at Nailsworth (just outside Stroud) does the best pie in the county.

It's a really nice old pub, just a shame the staff treat it like a restaurant and wear uniform. It'd be perfect if they were all in civvies instead.

Tipputs Inn between Tetbury & Nailsworth on A46 is pretty good.
Half Way House at Box (mile out of Nailsworth) also very good, as is The Old Lodge on Minchinhampton common.

I can recommend The Priory (in Tetbury). We went there with fellow PHer JDS and his wife on Sunday after the Avenue Club and it was superb. One of their favourite pubs I believe.

Food is very good - everything sourced within 30 miles, including the beer and spirits.

Er... by the way, this is V8S - not Mudskipper. biggrin

I also recommend the Kings Arms, as well as the Tunnel House at Coates and the Rattlebone at Sherston.

Cheers guys,

Ended up going with the Kings Arms, but will probably end up trying the others.

Also worth keeping in mind the Gumstool at Calcot Manor, on the A46 / A4135 crossroads.

I was not over impressed by this place, thought it overpriced and food not as good as expected. The Edgemoor Inn at Edge is good, Gumstool at Calcot Manor.

Tunnel is good food can be a bit rustic though and the drive is a bit rough if you've got a low car ! Gumstool part of Calcot Manor quite smart not really a pub to my mind though the food is usually decent

Another vote for wild garlic, you will not go back to the gumstool once you've been there!
