Looking for some advice from Bath locals...Where to take/meet someone for a first date in/around Bath?

Needs to have parking (as i will be driving)
Decent atmosphere i.e we should be able to talk not shout to each other.
Somewhere fairly decent, not too flashy.

thanks in advance!!

Carpenters Arms at Stanton Wick. Gorgeous setting, plenty of parking, excellent food and service. Lovely place without being flash. Sorted wink

10-15mins out of Bath, worth it for the place I'd say =)

In town however, one of my other favourites is Loch Fyne. It is a fish restaurant though, so might need some vetting on her wink However the inside is fantastic (the old bank, still has the mahoosive pillars), the food is superb and the staff are excellent. Some of the best service I have received.

As above, Beaujolais on Queen Square (just off the SW corner) is good - you can park in the Charlotte Street car park (pay and display).

For a more gastropub atmosphere, Hall and Woodhouse off the NE corner of Queen Square is also good.

The Moon and Sixpence in Shires Yard (parking at the Podium) is another good place.

All these should be on Google.

Last time we were in Bath we went to the Marlborough Tavern near the Crescent which was pretty nice.

Hall and Woodhouse - no question this is the best venue in Bath at present

Failing that, try http://www.hall-woodhousebath.co.uk/

Park in Charlotte Street Car Park for either one
