I'm taking a relative to Bristol Airport and thinking of eating somewhere nearby before heading home (up the M5). Will probably have the dog with us so needs to be dog friendly pub or a good chippy/pizza place. Any reccomendations?

Try the pubs in Wrington and Langford. Used to live in the former but would recommend the latter. Only 5 mins from the airport and just off the A38.

Just remembered: the pub in Langford is the Langford Inn!

I can recommend the Langford Inn, although its been some time since I last visited; I'd suggest the Lamb at Lower Weare though, very tasty food and big portions.

Going to either you can stay on the A38, it'd be easiest to continue down to join the M5 at junction 22.

A friend told me about this site... www.doggiepubs.org.uk/print/England/Somerset it lists some of the dog friendly pubs across England

I take it we will all be looking around to see if we can spot each other?

Hmm

Not tried this place, looks good - went to the other one in Stanton (green signage, name escapes me) a few years back and loved that, dont know why I havent returned!

Also went to the Pony and Trap for Sunday lunch the other week (on a PH recommendation) - fantastic food, but a bit far off from the Airport in this case plus prob not mutt friendly.

Thanks for the suggestions and the Doggie Pubs website is great! Will use that when we are on holiday as well!

Carpenters Arms looks very nice but a bit pricey.

I would say the Fox and Goose, its on the A38 between the airport and Bristol. Been there a few times, only up the road from where I work.

Not sure if it is dog friendly though?

Lamb is my local, highly recommend. Very easy to get to, decent price, big potions and extremely dog friendly.

Carpenters is also excellent, possible slightly more out of the way depending where you are going back to.

Would also recommend this place - very good food, decent cost and about 10 minutes drive from the airport. Also can't comment on the dog firendly part though, I'm afraid.
