A370 Speed Limit Review Bristol to WSM
Discussion
A for info post really
The signs went up today and they suggest you look at the north somerset website - so far can't find anything on that site. BUT I did find link to the Joint Local Traffic Plan - which has 134 documents that reference the A370 speed limit review.
Obviously not read them all...
I there anyone on here who works for council and can summarise what's likely to happen to the roads and do we have a say? It seems targets are set and motorists can't do much to stop the traffic calming measures they are planning to put in place - not against road safety and improvements but would be nice to have a say.

These things are usually hidden deep in a "consultation" area of LA websites.
Here is the link to this consultation proposal http://consult.n-somerset.gov.uk/consult.ti/speed/...
If of course the scheme survives the coming budget cuts is another matter

Thanks for that!
Had a quick scan and looks like most areas stay the same - the bit between flax bourton and the long ashton bypass proposal is to have a 40 limit phase rather then straight from 50 down to 30 - a bit of sense at last!
Hardly common sense, re surfacing the st awfull road and getting rid of the bus lane would be common sense, arsing about with the speed limits is a waste of time and money.Had a quick scan and looks like most areas stay the same - the bit between flax bourton and the long ashton bypass proposal is to have a 40 limit phase rather then straight from 50 down to 30 - a bit of sense at last!

They've just resurfaced the stretch in question and there isn't a bus lane near Flaxxy B. I agree with Floss. Never thought I'd say this but I'd actually approve of a SPECs type system through the village – some people do come through at insane speeds.
Of more concern thereabouts is the nursery that's just opening along there. That'll cause some fun and games in the morning with people going in and out onto the main raod.
