Me and a few mates from FEOC-uk.com are thinking of having a meet on Dartmoor and I was hoping someone on here could recommend somewhere to get some food.

There will probably be around 6-7 cars (Though new members are very welcome smile) and we dont really want somewhere too expensive as a couple will be travelling a fair distance.

Cheers.

Any particular side of the moor preferred? Had a nice meal in the remote pub right in the middle of nowhere on the main road between Tavistock and Postbridge. Is right up on the rural / wild bit.

Bears Lake would be the one I would go for. On the road from Sourton Cross to Tavistock and with some nice roads across the moor (fenced off sections) most of the moor roads, although nice are 40mph with live stock to contend with. Bears Lake is about 10 mins off the A30, so for your mates from north oe south, its esay to get to HTH smile

There is also the Fox & Hounds on the A386 between Tavistock and Okehampton. Good pub right on the moor, with its own bunk room type setup for people who want to avoid drinking and driving. It is literally right on the moor too. Out the pub, back gate - moor. biggrin

Well today me and a few mates had a FEOC meet at the Fox and Hounds pub on the A386 near Tavistock and enjoyed a beautiful xmas meal. Nice sized car park for a meet and the staff were great and really friendly so I would recommend it smile

A couple pics of our group of 4!

Yea I definitely will next time, it totally slipped my mind to ask on here if anyone wanted to come along!

Not sure when the next FEOC South West meet will be though as we are massively spread apart. One lad came from Gloucster and another Helston so its hard to find somewhere that everyone is happy with on a date they are free!
