Maharaja Purton is great!
I've always liked jewel in the crown.
The Mrs likes biplob but their curries are a bit too smooth, sweet and coloured for me.
Purple onion is overpriced and not great, and I've only been in the khyber when really drunk.
after hearing great things about Biplob we went down there. It was dank, damp, musty and smelt very unhealthy. An overriding smell of mildew also it appears a death trap as we could not see an escape route should there be a fire. The food gave the majority of the party very bad gut and as a result none of us will go there again. Was such a shame after hearing good things about them.I've always liked jewel in the crown.

Maharajah in Purton is easily the best in Swindon and surrouning. It's the only curry house I will elect to go to.
It's good - I used to prefer The Ancient Raj in Cricklade, but we've not been in there for ages. Spice Express in Purton is good for takeaway. Our Indian friends always rated Mela in Old Town - I had a feeling it had closed down, but the website is still up. Spice Merchant on the B4040 out of Malmesbury was quite nice last time we ate there too.otolith said:
