I'm trying to help a friend rehome a cat..

Sassy is a lovely 7yr old female, spayed and microchipped. Her previous 'owners' have emigrated to Australia and left her behind. She was taken to the local vets by the neighbours as they knew the family have moved away.

If anyone would like anymore information, please let me know

She's a gorgeous girl!

Is she an out-and-about or a house cat? Having just moved back into my flat I am missing having kitties around but wouldn't want to coop up a cat which has been used to the outdoors.

Thats a shame.

I would have taken her in without a 2nd thought, except we're not allowed pets where we're living at the moment frown
I've already asked my mum, but we dont think the other cats would like a 'newcomer' in the household.

I too would love to help Sandy. Lost my little friend of 15 years back in November frown and the house still feels empty.

Not sure MrsS would be happy if I came home with another yet, as we are finding our freedom again at being able to just pack the car and go off, without thinking cat-sitters or cattery.

Shame though. Every week in our local rag there are ad from the CPL with pictures of a little one looking for a home. I'd re-home them all if I could!

I know that feeling all too well. We had our 'old man' put to sleep back in May, he was 17, i've since moved back out of home so don't even have to the other 2 around....does feel quite strange not having a ball of fur wandering around

Where abouts is she?

I'm finally moving into my new house within the next 10 days, I'll check with the OH whether we can give Sassy a home smile

From the samll amount of information we have yes they did. The neighbour said they had tried to find her a new home, but with no luck. The neighbour had been feeding her for a while but couldn't keep doing so, so they handed her into the local vets to ask them to rehome her.

She is currently staying with my friend, but she has 1 house cat, 1 'outdoors' cat and a dog, but the cats aren't getting along, hence trying to find her a new home

Shocks me everytime, yet it shouldn't as it happens a lot, my mum and dads cat was originally abandoned in the same way, he was a great puddy tat redface)
Good luck with fimding a better home for her.

Bugger. I'm down in Truro and can't get up that way for another 4-5 weeks thanks to work, a wedding and the sodding house.

How soon does she need a new home, we would be happy to provide one but are moving ourselves mid-August which may not be good for her to move twice in a short time. I note from the prev threads that she gets on with Dogs but is having trouble with another cat, do you know if this is a male or female? We have neutered irked male cat and daft puppy! (also irked)

Are you trying to fill up the new place before you even get there? smile

She's not getting on with the female house cat, which is kind of understandable (it's been the housecats house for 11yrs, now there's some newbie trying to make it home). She's getting along with the snipped outdoor male.

Ideally they want to find a home for her sooner rather than later so that it doesn't cause too much stress for any of them

smile Well she does match our cat who is 7 also, and he is an outdoors cat too so that sounds OK. We move in August 21st so if she is still in need of a home we will provide. Its right out in the country surrounded by fields so will be great for cats.

I'm now looking for a pitchfork so i can practice my "Get orf moi land" and "I be ar cieder drinkerr" local dialect. . . biggrin

Let us know Sandy, happy to rehome.

Cheers
Chris

Good news - Sassy was re-homed on Monday evening, a friends mum has taken her in.

Thank you to those who considered taking her in.

That's great to know - I don't think I could have taken her on for another few weeks (sodding bloody house censored ) .
