Anyone recommend someone?
I have a feeling what I want done may not be absolutely straightforward but far from impossible.
Cheers

Ive used sextons before for a couple of cars.......pretty good to be fair. Some people think they are overpriced, but i think you get what you pay for. lol

I used Sextons in Portsmouth for my system in the Celica (full replacement speakers, HU, amp and sub) as well as fitting some of it myself, and they were excellent. I've not heard anything about the branch here.

Depending on the level of requirements James could probably help you out a bit as that's one thing he has a bit of knowledge on, plus he has, or has access to, the right tools.

That might be useful Sarah.

Basically I have a new Sony headunit in my 944 which runs off its own internal amp but the original HU(which I took out) ran through a separate amp somewhere in the car. This powers 10 speakers - original factory fit option. I wired this Sony HU in and the same wires appeared to do the same things so it seemed straight forward enough but only works in a limited way.

Currently I do not have any rear speakers operating as they were the ones running from said separate amp. I've managed for now without them.

But now I've bought a Becker Indianapolis from fleabay which I want installed with all the speakers preferably. I have a feeling I am going to run into compatibility issues with new HU, old amp and connection methods.

I think it is probably beyond me now and I don't want to butcher the electrics either.

Feel free to pop by Sunday says James, he's used the Swindon Sextons and they're okay, but for something like that it's worth having a quick look first as it's not an install from scratch - plus he can nab an amp meter from work etc before then.

Car's at Motorama currently but may be back by next weekend. New Becker should also be here so I'll be in touch!

Just to resurrect this - finally got around to getting my new DIN sat nav fitted. Sextons did it, all seems fine. They even charged me less than they quoted.
So I'm happy.
