Hi guys, just wondering if anyone could help me.
I have a temporary contract working in Bristol this summer (6 weeks) and was wondering if anyone could recommend somewhere that might be relatively cheap to stay for this period of time, as obviously i cant rent somewhere for that short amount of time, and its a bit lengthy (and expensive for me) to stay in hotels/services apartments.
Alternatively, as i live in south wales, and could possibly make the commute in every day, could anyone recommend me somewhere that is cheap to park for the day near Victora street? As not knowing the area all I can seem to find is NCP's that are going to charge me £15 a day, which combined with petrol and i have to pay £5.50 for the bridge each day (and wont be earning a fantastic amount) is a bit of a bitter pill to swallow. Any recommendations on what would be best from those that know the area better than I do would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Tom

Depending on what the job is (If you actually need a car for it) then why not take the train? From Newport (Just picked a location, other locations won't vary THAT much in price, if you live in say Cardiff area etc) £9 off peak for an adult, or £11.70 for peak (£7.75/£5.95 Peak and Off peak with a Railcard discoun). If work isn't near any station, then get a PlusBus with your ticket.

A PlusBus for Bristol is as follows: Adult £3.50, Railcard holder £2.35

HTH.

Thanks i was considering this, i would be traveling from the bridgend area, and due to the change required, it would probably take longer than driving, i gather that Temple meads is near Victoria street where i'll be working though. Unfortunately, once parking at the train station is taken into account, both options are quite expensive, although at the moment the train does look more viable, so thanks for that. I gather that cheap/free parking in the city centre is a bit of a no no then?

There's not much cheapness in that area, no. Whereabouts in Victoria Street? (I used to work at 100) It's moments from the station so that could be an option. However the area manager for NCP has done a few of my colleagues a cracking deal - £80 / month for prime city centre parking. I will PM you his email.

I'm on Baldwin Street, just behind the Mercure that you can see from your office. We should grab a beer
